App Review Guideline
4.2 Minimum Functionality
Apple sees the app as too thin: a repackaged website, a simple list or a single feature that doesn't feel like an app.
Why it happens
- A web view wrapper around a mobile website with little native functionality.
- Very limited content or a single static feature.
- An app that mostly links out to a website.
How to fix it
- Add native features the website can't offer: offline use, push notifications, device integration, native navigation.
- Explain in the review notes what the app does that the website doesn't.
- If it can't be more than a website, ship it as a website.
What to reply in Resolution Center
After the fix is in the build you submit:
Hello App Review team, Thank you for the review of [app name] [version]. Since the last review we added native functionality: [list, e.g. offline mode, push notifications, native screens], which a website cannot provide. We have submitted build [build number] with these changes. Please let us know if anything else needs attention. Best regards
