App Review Guideline
2.3 Accurate Metadata
Your App Store listing (name, description, screenshots, previews, keywords) does not match what the app actually does.
Why it happens
- Screenshots that show features, devices or content the app does not have.
- Descriptions or keywords that name competitors, other apps or unrelated popular terms.
- Mentions of pricing or other platforms (Android, 'also on Google Play') in the metadata.
How to fix it
- Make every screenshot a real screen of this build, on the right device frames.
- Remove competitor names, trademarks you don't own and irrelevant keywords.
- Remove references to other platforms and price claims from the description.
What to reply in Resolution Center
After the fix is in the build you submit:
Hello App Review team, Thank you for the review of [app name] [version]. We updated the metadata to describe the app accurately: [list the screenshot and text changes]. We have submitted build [build number] with these changes. Please let us know if anything else needs attention. Best regards
