App Review Guideline

    2.5.2 Self-contained apps

The app downloads or runs code that changes its features or functionality after review.

    Why it happens

    • Downloading native code, plug-ins or scripts that add features.
    • Interpreted code that changes the app's primary purpose (code push of new features rather than bug fixes).

    How to fix it

    1. Ship features in the binary that is reviewed.
    2. Limit over-the-air updates to bug fixes that don't change the app's purpose, and say so in the review notes.

What to reply in Resolution Center

After the fix is in the build you submit:

    Hello App Review team,

Thank you for the review of [app name] [version]. The app no longer downloads executable code that adds functionality. [Describe the change].

We have submitted build [build number] with these changes. Please let us know if anything else needs attention.

    Best regards
